Jesus let her know that he was aware of her five failed marriages and that she was living with a man to whom she wasn’t married. He didn’t reveal this to shame her but to convince her he was the Messiah, that he loved her, and to offer her eternal life. As a result of this, the woman became a joy-filled outspoken evangelist (John 4:28–29).
